Eastwood Guitars and designer Zac Eccles are donating instruments to Grow the Music as part of the launch of the Lizard MT.

We're thrilled to share that Eastwood Guitars, in partnership with the original designer of the guitar, Zac Eccles, will be donating instruments to Grow the Music as part of the launch of their brand new Lizard MT. A microtonal electric guitar inspired by none other than King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard. Yeah, you read that right.
If you've ever fallen down the rabbit hole of King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, you'll know exactly the sound we're talking about. That bright, buzzing, otherworldly shimmer.
That's microtonality and Eastwood has built a guitar designed specifically to capture it.
Western music traditionally divides the octave into 12 notes. Microtonal music blows that wide open, adding notes in between those notes and expanding your harmonic vocabulary into entirely new emotional territory.
The Lizard MT is built with a precision microtonal fret layout to give players immediate access to all of that, right out of the box. It's a pretty remarkable instrument.

The Lizard MT was originally designed by Zac Eccles, who has partnered with Eastwood to bring it back to life through their Guitstarter program. As part of that partnership, Zac has directed Eastwood to donate instruments to Grow the Music, because he believes, like we do, that access to instruments and music should be available to everyone, not just those with the means to get there on their own.
That kind of generosity means everything to us. Every instrument that comes through our doors gets put straight into the hands of someone in our community who needs it whether that's a young person in a remote community, a musician from a culturally diverse background, or someone who simply hasn't had the opportunity until now.
We've been doing this since 2012. We've donated over 1,000 instruments, delivered more than 2,000 workshops, and driven over 400,000 kilometres of remote roads to bring music to communities across Australia. And every single time an instrument arrives, whether it's a battered old acoustic or a one-of-a-kind microtonal electric, we get to watch something light up in someone.
Music changes people. It changes lives and how you see things. It's something we see happen, over and over again.
So to Zac Eccles and the team at Eastwood Guitars, huge thank you! We couldn't be more grateful.
If the Lizard MT has caught your eye head over to Eastwood's Guitstarter page and grab one. Knowing that your purchase is connected to getting instruments into the hands of musicians who need them most makes it even better.
